Joe Steiff, an independent filmmaker and Associate Chair of Columbia College Chicago’s Film & Video Department, served as the festival judge for films in the fiction and short film categories.
Christopher Sullivan, animator and Professor, Department of Film, Video, and New Media at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, was the festival judge for films in the animation category.

We are very grateful to our festival judges for their commitment and expertise!
THE 2010 COMPETITION
The 2010 Talking Pictures Festival received over 250 entries this year, ranging from US productions to films from Israel, the UK, India, Australia, Estonia, Hong Kong, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, and other countries.

Festival Co-Directors Kathy Berger and Ines Sommer, Festival Committee members, and pre-screening panels reviewed these many worthy entries. The selected films were shown during the festival and competed for awards.
In addition to the films in competition, the festival also sought out outstanding new film titles that were already in distribution. Those titles did not compete for awards.
